In response to:
we both had verizon cell phones and received reception "in network" coverage 90% of the time. missuori, wyoming, idaho, and oregon all had some pockets without reception. there was only one day of the entire trip where we couldn't even place calls on an analog netowork (about $4/minute). we ran againt traffic 99% of the way. we never did notify any police or highway patrol about our run. the only time that we thought we might have to contact highway patrol was in idaho. we had to run on the interstate in idaho for about 150 miles. however, we checked the internet and discovered that idaho is/was one of only 2 or 3 states that pedestrians are legally permitted on the interstate. we really lucked out in that idaho was the only state on our route that we needed to run on the interstate. thanks for the note Bob....Scott
